Advocacy

All advocacy is, at its core, an exercise in empathy.

—Samantha Power

The CLIP Process is based on the belief that the right people with a clear goal and a robust process can create Community Led Impact Partnerships, be it in community or economic development. The key value is collaboration.

Sometimes, however, entrenched interests from government, corporations or interest groups can block this process. In such situations you might need to use Advocacy that resolves the situation through persuasion, by compromise or through political or legal action.

Common tactics that you can use at one stage
or other of an Advocacy campaign:

  • Lobbying
  • Fun Tactics
  • Direct Action
  • Petitions/Letter-writing
  • Rallies and Marches
  • Internet
  • Ballot box
  • Public meetings
  • Non-participation
